Hey there friends!
I wanted to share a few more thoughts regarding becoming a morning person in addition to this week’s first message. We can talk extensively about methods for simply getting you out of bed. However, I think the bigger issue is the mindset needed to create new habits such as waking up earlier. This applies to anything new that you want to access. You have to assess your mindset and see where you might need an upgrade or at least a re-shaping.
For instance, many people’s outlook regarding early mornings looks something like this: “I always feel so exhausted when I get up early so I sleep in and then I can’t get everything done. I’ve always been like this. I will just never be a morning person.” Not exactly ideal! Even if you do not feel it right away, it is crucial to start telling yourself how you want to feel…how you should feel. Remember, you control your thoughts and emotions not the other way around. So with that said, the first step I recommend towards becoming a morning person is:
Tell yourself you are a morning person!
Tell yourself you enjoy waking up early. Remind yourself that you start your day renewed and refreshed and full of joy
Progressively get up earlier.
You don’t have to become a morning person over night. Try getting up a little earlier every day until you reach your desired waking time, maybe 5-15 minute increments every day.
When you get in bed for the night, spend a few moments visualizing the state in which you want to wake up in the morning. Then once you have a well defined image, be sure to put all those thoughts aside and “still your mind”
Identify something to look forward to.
A fun workout, a new breakfast recipe, the sound of the birds singing, the sight of a loved one, etc
Consistent wake time
Wake at a similar time everyday rather than sleeping way in on the weekends then having a drastic shock on Monday. Commit to this! You will be glad you did.
Even just a couple phrases spoken over yourself can completely change your outlook. Then your brain starts to associate morning with whatever you tell it upon waking
-I am renewed daily
-I have endless energy
-Today is going to be an EPIC day!

Prepare the night before
If at all possible, do monotonous tasks the night before so your morning is free of stress and clutter. Clothes, food, workout plan, etc.
To Do List
Similar to the last suggestion, create and prioritize this the night before so you can hit the ground running and be as efficient as possible in the morning.
Drink water upon waking
This one is often overlooked. However being thirsty can actually make you feel tired. You may not be as tired as you think in the morning, you may just need something to drink!
Ideally you will have a motivator other than just getting ready for work (like a workout or something stimulating). However if getting ready is really all you have time for, make it a fun process. Put on some music and sing and dance while you get ready.
